I am a 40 year-old working foodie. Food is not my day-job, but it is my passion. I also enjoy fitness and eating healthy. I have an addiction to searching the internet and buying books on health, fitness, and nutrition. I like to bike to work in the summer and walk in the cooler months. I live in California and enjoy a mild climate year-around. I live in the Bay Area and enjoy access to many health and fitness amenities (farmers markets, health-food stores, fitness studios, trails, ....).

I generally try to cook and bake gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free. But not always, and I tend to be most flexible when I'm eating out or with friends.

I was a vegetarian for 15 years before adding fish, then meat, pork, and poultry back into my diet. It's always been a taste and texture thing for me, but I've adapted my taste preferences in order to get more protein into my diet.
